📘 What is CA Intermediate?
CA Intermediate (CA Inter) is the second level of the Chartered Accountancy course conducted by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). This course deepens your understanding of accounting, finance, taxation, law, auditing, and business ethics.
It is divided into two groups — Group 1 and Group 2 — each containing four subjects.
🎯 Eligibility for CA Intermediate
1. Foundation Route:
Complete the CA Foundation course.
Register for the CA Intermediate course after passing the Foundation exams.
2. Direct Entry Route:
Graduates/Postgraduates (Commerce stream with 55% or Non-Commerce with 60%) can directly enroll in CA Intermediate.
Also available for students who have cleared CMA Inter or CS Executive.
📆 Exam Cycle & Duration
CA Intermediate exams are conducted Thrice a year — in January, May and September.
Students generally take 8–10 months of preparation time before appearing for the exam. ICAI allows students to register and appear in either group or both groups based on their preparation level.

The CA Inter syllabus is divided into 2 Groups, with 4 subjects each:

Each paper is of 100 marks.
Duration per paper: 3 hours.
Passing Criteria:
Minimum 40% marks in each subject.
Aggregate of 50% in each group.
You can appear for both groups together or one group at a time.
Set-off is allowed if you appear for both groups.
